Chiang Mai (Mizzima) - A fire broke out in Kyopin Kauk Township in Pegu division on May 15, damaging at least four houses.

The fire, which started in the residence of Kyi Aung spread to neighbouring houses and continued to burn for about an hour.

As the fire spread, fire fighters from Kyopin Kauk were unable to extinguish it and called in and sought the help of fire fighters from Nattalin, Zeekone, Min Hla, and Oat Pho townships.

Following the fire, at least 20 people,  left homeless, took refuge at a local Buddhist monastery.
