Fighting unabated between Kokang and Burmese Army

(Time of reporting – 6:45 p.m. Burmese Standard Time) Ruili (Mizzima) - Another clash broke out between the Kokang and Burmese Army near the Sino-Burma border on Thursday evening. The gunfight between the Peng Jiasheng led Kokang group and the Burmese Army, began an hour ago and is continuing till the time of filing this report, near the Chin Shui Haw town on the Sino-Burma border. Earlier in the morning, a clash occurred near Yan Lone Chai town between Peng’s army and the Burmese battalion, which has been tracking them.   Similarly, Peng’s Army, which was driven out of Lao Kai capital of the Kokang, ambushed the Burmese troops following them in the jungles near the Sino-Burma border. The Kokang region is located east of Salween River and is close to the Chinese border. < Prev   Next >
