Burma to suspend Internet connections for five hours Friday

New Delhi (Mizzima) – The Burmese Internet provider, Yadanarpon Teleport, will temporarily suspend its Internet service to the entire country from Thursday midnight to 5 a.m. Friday morning, according to Myanma Posts and Telecommunications.

A statement published on the Yadanarpon Teleport Website said that it would cut Internet service for five hours until Friday morning due to essential network maintenance at the MPT Hantharwaddy International Gateway.

Yadanarpon Teleport provides Internet connection services for all internet users in Burma.

The two ISPs in Burma are Myanma Posts and Telecommunications ISP and the Ministry of Defence ISP. The Yadanarpon Teleport is under the Myanma Posts and Telecommunications.
