Quakes in India's Andaman Islands too far to affect Burma |

New Delhi - Two earthquakes near India's eastern archipelago of Andamans and Nicobars were recorded on Friday.
Officials at the Indian Tsunami Warning Centre in Hyderabad told Mizzima the two quakes measuring 6.7 and 6.4 on Richter respectively began at about 5:30 p.m. (Indian Standard Time).
"The quakes were near the Andaman & Nicobar Island," an official said.
The official said the extent of damage caused by the quakes was still not known.
"The epicentre was in the Bay of Bengal," the official said.
