Burmese chess players will take part in the 2012 World Chess Olympiad in Turkey this month, the Myanmar Chess Federation (MCF) said on Saturday.

The World Chess Olympiad will be held from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10 and up to 200 players are expected to compete.

A four-member delegation left Burma on Thursday. It will hold practice sessions in Bangkok before leaving for Turkey.

Burma competed in the World Chess Olympiad in 2000 for the first time.
