Couple murdered, four-year old child orphaned

Chiang Mai - A couple in Rangoon's Thingankyun Township was mysteriously murdered on Tuesday leaving their four-year old child orphaned, police said. Thein Tun (44) and his wife Thet Thet Khaing (41), residents of Pyitharyar Street in Pyidawthar ward, Thingankyun Township, were found dead with stab wounds on August 19 morning, according to the local police. Police in Thingankyun Township said the bodies of the couple on the second floor of their house was discovered when neighbours found the four-year old child sitting alone in the compound.  According to the police the murders might have taken place when the couple woke up in the morning to the sound of thieves breaking in, who reacted and stabbed them.  The killers apparently looted the house. The bodies will be cremated at the Ye Wai cemetery on Friday. < Prev   Next >
