New Delhi – Ma Win Pa Pa (28), aide of pro-democracy leader Daw Suu, has been shifted to a third hospital after two days.

The National League for Democracy (NLD) party spokesman U Nyan Win said that she was first admitted to Rangoon General Hospital and then the Muslim Charity Hospital at Barr Street, Kyauktada Township on September 5 and 6 and then shifted to a private hospital on Monday.

"We heard today that she was shifted to another hospital but could not confirm where," he told Mizzima.

Sources said, with security personnel, policemen and policewoman in plainclothes, security has been tightened in and around the hospital including the operation theatre.

Ma Win Pa Pa and her mother Khin Khin Win have been closely serving detained Burmese opposition leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and have been detained along with her.

"They have been living with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi since 2004. Suu Kyi had demanded that the authorities do not impose any restriction on them as they have not committed any crime and were just looking after her," Nyan Win said.

Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's personal lawyer, Kyi Win said, "They [the two aides] cannot move around freely. We lodged a complaint against the restriction on instructions given by Daw Aung San Suu Kyi."

"I hope they will be freed soon. But I don't know if the mother is with her daughter or with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. We'll ask about it," Kyi Win added.

Meanwhile, the NLD in exiled said Aung San Suu Kyi had refused to accept regular food supplies since mid-August, leading observers to think that the Nobel Peace Laureate is on hunger strike.

"We think the food stock is almost depleted. We are concerned about her health. The sudden hospitalization of Ma Win Pa Pa may be due to the dwindling food stock. The others may also fall ill I think," Myint Soe, Secretary of NLD in exiled said.
