Military supremo in Bagan

Chiang Mai (Mizzima) - Ser. Gen. Than Shwe, the Burmese military junta supremo is visiting Bagan on a vacation, an eyewitness and sources in Nay Pyi Taw said. Than Shwe (75) arrived in the old city of Bagan in central Burma on December 13 in a retinue of military helicopters. He has put up at a hotel owned by businessman Tayza, who is known to be a favourite of the family. His daughter Thandar Shwe (a) Ma Pauk Pauk, a grandson and three friends of the grandson are also vacationing with him, according to sources in Nay Pyi Taw. < Prev   Next >
