Mizzima News - Aung San Suu Kyi’s lawyers Nyan Win, Kyi Win, Hla Myo Myint, Daw Khin Saw Htay and at least five cars carrying diplomats from embassies in Rangoon were witnessed entering Insein prison, where the special court was to pronounce the verdict on the opposition leader’s on going trial.

Authorities have ordered vendors to clear out and shop-keepers to down their shutters in the Insein market while Insein Road and other smaller lanes in the area have been barricaded with barbed wire.

Despite the heightened security, at least 500 supporters and members of the National League for Democracy have gathered outside the Insein prison precincts in a show of solidarity.
