NLD leader Win Tin hospitalized for tests

New Delhi (Mizzima) – National League for Democracy (NLD) central executive committee member Win Tin, 81, will remain in the hospital for about five days to rest and undergo medical tests. ‘I don’t have any serious health problems’, Win Tin told Mizzima.

His niece said Win Tin had been taking strong medicine, has suffered some side effects, and is weak. He is scheduled to undergo tests on his liver and lungs.

Win Tin, a former journalist and political prisoner who was imprisoned for more than 19 years, was released from Insein Prison in September 2008. He suffered a heart attack in August 2009 and had a heart pacemaker implanted. In September 2010, he received treatment for asthma.
