The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Wednesday sent a letter to Burmese President Thein Sein and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon asking for their help in ending the sectarian violence against Rohingya Muslims in western Arakan State.

Ihsanoglu asked Thein Sein to provide security for the Rohingya Muslims and called for a quick investigation into attacks on Rohingya Muslims and to try those responsible for the attacks in courts of law.
“The OIC is ready to provide any assistance to Myanmar in this regard,” Ihsanoglu said in the letter.
In the letter to Ban Ki-moon, Ihsanoglu said, “The OIC is ready to provide any assistance that may be needed by the United Nations.”
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Turkish Confederation of Public Servants Trade Unions said that it will send 200,000 Turkish liras in aid to Muslims in Burma, according to the Anadolu website.
