Facebook users in Bangladesh have reacted angrily to the posting of a map on the Myanmar Air Force Facebook page that showed what was termed the “Future Myanmar Empire” that displayed Bangladesh as Myanmar territory, reports the Dhaka Tribune on February 26.

The map was posted on February 20 but by the morning of February 25 it had been taken down.

Myanmar daily Burma Times acknowledged the page as the “national Facebook page of the Myanmar Air Force.”
According to the report, the page also claimed that Bangladesh was helping terrorists to secure independence for Arakan state [the former name of Rakhine State].

The photo post also urged the Myanmar people to strike Bangladesh before it was too late.

The post was shared widely, according to the newspaper, and Bangladesh Facebook users replied with harsh comments.
