Telenor Myanmar Limited has announced it is looking for Myanmar applicants to apply for annual Telenor Youth Forum (TYF) at the end of the year.
This event, run in partnership with the Nobel Peace Center, brings together young leaders from Telenor’s 13 markets to tackle social challenges through the use of digital solutions, according to a press release from the company on June 10.
The Telenor Youth Forum is a year-long commitment that begins in Oslo from December 8-11, 2016, and is timed to coincide with the Nobel Peace Prize festivities. The young delegates will work in teams on their assigned challenges, aiming to create engagement, awareness, understanding and ultimately peace. They will meet again in May 2017, in Bangkok, to continue their journey. The culmination of their commitment to the programme will be the unveiling of a digital exhibition in collaboration with the Nobel Peace Center in autumn 2017.
The venture is said to offer Myanmar applicants a great opportunity to bring change.
“For a young person today, this is really an amazing opportunity to make an impact on the world. Working with the Nobel Peace Center and one of the world’s largest telecom companies means that you have the unique ability to create change. We are now seeking talented and passionate people who are interested in working with other young leaders from Europe and Asia, and who believe that technology can be a key ingredient in the recipe for peace. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply,” says Petter Furberg, Chief Executive Office at Telenor Myanmar.
The TYF delegates will spend one year working with their teams to deliver on the project plans. They will meet twice physically and collaborate virtually when back in their home countries. Their aim will be to deliver on the solution that they believe best addresses their social challenge, as well as to work alongside the Nobel Peace Center to create an exhibition of the social issue that they tackled.
Application is open till 14 July. Applicants who have successfully submitted their applications online will receive an email instruction for preparing a two-minute self-interview video. The videos must be
submitted by 22 July.
