Indian troops are said to have entered Myanmar territory for the second time in less than a year, the Economic Times reported on 30 May.  The incursion, on 27 May, occurred in pursuit of militants responsible for a May 22 ambush on an Assam Rifles convoy in Manipur.
Initial reports quoted officials familiar with the matter as saying that at least eight militants were killed in the operation and 18 were picked up and handed over to Myanmar authorities.
There has been no acknowledgement from the Myanmar authorities so far on the matter, according to the report.
