Republic of India Day celebrated in Yangon

The 67th Anniversary of the Republic Day of India took place in Yangon Tuesday, 26 January. Vice President U Nyan Tun attended the ceremony together with the Yangon Region Chief Minister, senior military officers, Ambassadors and officials from Foreign Embassies in Yangon.
Vice President U Nyan Tun and Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya saluted the State flags while the national anthems of both countries were played.
India’s Republic Day honours the date on which the Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.
