Given the frequency and severity of earthquakes that hit the country, ActionAid Myanmar will be holding a conference this coming weekend to discuss earthquake preparedness and response.
The NGO is holding the forum on October 8 at the Myanmar Convention Center in Yangon.
ActionAid Myanmar is organizing the forum on earthquake preparedness and response capacity of Yangon with the guidance of Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement and Yangon Regional Government.
Due to massive and more frequent earthquakes in Myanmar, it is necessary that all stakeholders are prepared and have proper systems, plans and actions in place which can safeguard people, cities and communities in Myanmar.
The one-day forum will see professional agencies on earthquake preparedness share important information with an aim to creating a preparedness plan for Yangon City.
Media organizations and reporters are invited to attend.
