Death toll rises to six in Minbu mine blast

Four more bodies were pulled out of a coal mine in Minbu, Magway Region yesterday, bringing the death toll to six after a pipe injecting oxygen into the tunnel exploded on Monday, state media reported on 29 November.
The blast occurred at about 3 p.m. on Monday, injuring four and trapping eight people underground.
Rescue operations for the eight trapped miners commenced immediately. Two were found dead at about 7:16 pm. At about 6:50 pm yesterday, four more were found dead. Rescue operations for the remaining two miners is still underway.
