Yangon International Airport (YIA) is holding an emergency exercise on Thursday, a press release from its media office said.
"Smoke and sirens may be used during the exercise. The public is advised not to be alarmed," the release said.
The exercise will test procedures for " incident command, communication, and recovery in coordination with multiple agencies and various stakeholders."

It is part of Civil Aviation requirements to periodically test airport readiness to prepare for incidents and accidents, the release said.
"Specific components that will be tested include emergency response, incident command, inter-agency coordination, handling of information and service recovery," it said.
The exercise will continue until 3 pm in an unoccupied area away from the main runway at Yangon International Airport, the release added.
