One local person has been killed and three others injured in a fire caused by a flaming hot air balloon to celebrate Myanmar's Tazaungdaing lighting festival in Shan state, Xinhua reported on 31 October quoting the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The town's well-known Tazaungdaing Festival, also known as the Festival of Lights which falls on the day of full moon in the eighth month according to the Myanmar calendar, is celebrated as a public holiday in Myanmar and marks the end of the rain season.
People usually fly sky lanterns and launch firework competition as part of celebrating the festival.
