NCA signatories and UPC agreed on majority of 21-point proposal

After discussion over a 21-point proposal by the signatories to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), the meeting on reviewing the NCA between the Union Government and ethnic armed groups ended yesterday in Yangon, state media reported on 27 October.
“We mainly discussed weaknesses in implementing the NCA. We exchanged views on moving forward for peace while working between the political dialogue and the ceasefire. Out of the 21 points we discussed, the majority are agreed upon by both sides,” said U Zaw Htay, a representative of the Union Peace Commission
The outcomes of the meeting will be put forward to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement Joint Implementation Coordination Meeting (JICM).
