Union Minister and National Security Adviser Thaung Tun said that US Secretary of Defence James Norman Mattis discussed Rakhine State affairs at a meeting with ASEAN ministers on Indo-Pacific strategy.
Union Minister and National Security Adviser Thaung Tun said that he told the US Secretary of Defence and ASEAN ministers at the meeting, his government welcomed the refugees who fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh and the government was doing work for receiving repatriated refugees as quickly as possible as the pre-monsoon season would arrive soon.
In addition, he also told the meeting that Myanmar had suffered terrorist attacks.
US Secretary of Defence James Norman Mattis reportedly welcomed the two news releases issued on May 31 by Myanmar government regarding Rakhine State affairs.
