Handmade Chate Longyi from Amarapura

The longyi is a cloth, about two meters long and 80 centimeters wide that is widely worn in Myanmar. Chate is the Myanmar name of the longyi design on the longyi. Myanmar Chate Longyi are handmade and famous for its fine arts and quality. Some fine Chate Longyi sell for K1,000,000 (about 850 euros) to K 1,500,000. Myanmar people wear the traditional Chate Longyi during the festival and special ceremonies, such as wedding and donation ceremonies.
