Protests continue over Koh Tao murder accused

Demonstrators met in Yangon on January 2 at a rally to call for justice over a court case that has strained relations between Myanmar and Thailand. Two Myanmar migrant workers have been found guilty and sentenced to death on December for the murder of two British tourists on the Thai island of Koh Tao in 2014. Win Zaw Htun and Zaw Lin, both 22, were sentenced to death for the rape and murder of Hannah Witherridge, 23, and the killing of David Miller, 24, plus two extra years for theft and illegal entry into Thailand.
