Chinland Defense Force claims 17 junta soldiers killed in Hakha battle

The Chinland Defence Force (CDF) claimed that 17 junta soldiers were killed in two clashes on the Falam-Hakha Road between Chun Kyon Village and Hakha Township in Hakha Township, Chin State on 5 March.

Seven Myanmar junta soldiers were killed in a landmine attack at 11 am on 5 March and 10 junta soldiers were killed when the CDF and the Chin National Army (CNA) jointly stormed their base at around 8 pm on the same day.

A convoy of 22 military vehicles including two tanks and about 200 troops on their way from Falam Township to Hakha Township was repeatedly intercepted and attacked by the CDF.

Aung Swe, a 48-year-old pastor in Ramhtalo Village, which is located between Falam Township and Hakha Township, was caught in a landmine blast that cut his left leg whilst he was going to his farm in the area, at about 9.45 am on 5 March.

The CDF said that the Myanmar junta troops usually plant many small landmines along the routes where they march, whereas the CDF only targets junta troops with mines and pays attention to public safety.

In other news, a man with mental health issues, Yone Hu, was shot dead by junta troops in Chunkyong Village, Hakha Township. His body was found in a rubbish dump on 6 March.

A CDF-Hakha official said that the Myanmar military is an illegal terrorist group because soldiers are viciously killing civilians, burning houses and looting people’s property.
