Clashes occur between Tatmadaw and Kokang in northern Shan State

Armed conflict broke out five times in three days between junta troops and the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA), which is widely known as the Kokang army, in northern Shan state.

Clashes occurred in Paukpauk village in Shin Htant area of Kokang region on 3 October, and Lonlauklan village of Mongkoe region on 4 October. On 5 October, armed conflict also took place in Kokang, Mongkoe and Hsenwi areas. Clashes then occurred in Mongkoe area and near Tharku mountain in Hsenwi district.

Although the junta announced a unilateral ceasefire on 27 September, they have increased military operations against MNDAA.
