Custody renewed in case of sister and brother-in-law of Arakan Army CS Tun Myat Naing

Mayangon Township court has remanded for a second time the younger sister and brother-in-law of Arakan Army (AA) Chief of Staff Tun Myat Naing in a case charged under the Anti-Terrorism Law.

The sister and brother-in-law of AA CS Tun Myat Naing are being investigated in case registered under section 52(a)(b)(c) of the Anti-Terrorism Law and their first 14-day remand was expired on November 1 so that the court issued a second remand and sent them into judicial custody at Insein Prison.

Kyaw Naing, Brother-in-law of AA CS Tun Myat Naing, was arrested at Yangon International Airport when he returned from Chiang Mai, Thailand on October 19 at about 2 p.m. along with his wife Moe Hnin Phy and their three-year old daughter who came to pick up him at the airport.

The court has fixed November 15 for next hearing.
