The Dark Side of Coal

In "The Dark Side of Coal" director Nyan Gyi investigates the surge of the use of coal in Myanmar. Although the country has only one coal-fired power plant, Thai and Chinese companies are very willing to help to create more coal-powered energy. But the rules and regulations are not sufficient to control the fast growth of coal as power source. So, the people, the environment and the planet as a whole, ultimately pay the price.

"The Dark Side of Coal" is produced by Myanmar Journalism Institute for Mizzima TV and Heinrich Böll Stiftung Myanmar.
