Hundreds of protesters from Kuki and Zomi tribes from Manipur staged a demonstration in New Delhi against an explosion of inter-ethnic violence this month that killed at least 70 people and left tens of thousands displaced. The clashes erupted earlier in May over a proposed government policy that would have benefitted the majority Meiteis community that dominates the political and social landscape of the remote Indian state.
