Junta regime announced a nationwide lockdown from 26 July to 1 August as a measure to control the outbreak of COVID-19, extending the earlier imposition from 17 to 25 July.

The announcement in 8 pm news of junta mouthpiece media said that the Central Bank of Myanmar, its branches and private banks are excluded from the order.

The junta’s health ministry confirmed new 5,506 COVID-19 cases and 326 deaths by 23 July.
