Over 160 Karenni youths showed their support to Kayah State Democratic Party (KySDP) in Loilem town, Loikaw by rallying around the party with a procession on November 3.

Kayah Liphu youth team representative Khoo Pau Lu said, “We rally around this party and we give our support to this party because it is our ethnic party. This ethnic party knows about our community’s issues more than others. So, we rally around this party.”

Another ethnic Karenni youth Khun Win Hlaing said that local ethnic parties faced political attacks by other political parties. Kayah State Democratic Party has an alliance with Kayan National Party.

Out of a total 34 seats in Kayah State KySDP will contest 30 seats and Kayan National Party will contest four seats.
