KNDO troops seize Ukrihta junta base in Karen State's Wale Myaing

The Karen National Defence Organisation (KNDO) attacked and occupied the Ukrihta Military Council camp in the Wale Myaing area of Karen State's Myawaddy District.

The area is controlled by Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 6.

A KNDO soldier serving on the front line said: “The clashes started at 8 AM in the morning. The Ukrihta Military Council camp was burned down.'' He also said that four KNDO soldiers, one of whom was a platoon commander, died in the attack.

Locals fled nearby villages because the junta was firing artillery shells into the area.

This year KNDO Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) joint forces have attacked and captured the junta base camps of Mawkhi, Thae Baw Bo and Ukrihta and Wale Myaing Police Station, all in the KNU Brigade 6 area.
