Junta spokesman Major General Zaw Min Tun said in an interview that Myanmar is exporting hundreds of tons of fisheries products to Russia every month.

He said: “The fisheries products sector is experiencing rapid growth.”

He said they expect to start exporting hundreds of tons of fisheries products and seafood to Russia every month in the next two to three months.

A Russian delegation led by the director of the RC investments Fund recently arrived in Myanmar and had discussions with Min Aung Hlaing about Myanmar exporting value-added livestock products.

At the World Fishery Products Forum in Russia, on 21 September Myanmar signed an agreement with Russia that will see Russia give Myanmar access to technology and send equipment to help develop the Myanmar fisheries sector.
