One resident said: “We are not squatters, we’ve been here for more than 20 years. We also have papers from the government that show we paid tax for our land and properties. Our ward is nowhere near an industrial zone, but now we have to move to another place before 18 November.”

The resident added: “The elderly are suffering the most; they don't know where to move because all of their businesses are here. Some have lived here for a long time and they are settled. We planted and cultivated a farm. Everyone who has lived here knows that it is agricultural land.”

If the residents refuse to move the junta will take action in accordance with the rules and regulations, according to locals.

According to locals, some residents have already moved due to pressure from the junta, but others are ready to face whatever might happen to them in the futur
