Myanmar junta troops massacre eight Rakhine villagers and burn houses

Military Council troops killed seven men and an old woman and burned down some houses in Sin Ingyi village, Ponnagyun township, Rakhine State on 10 November, residents say.

The people who were killed were Maung Kyaw Thein, Maung San Hla, Khin Maung, Maung Maung Thein, Kyaw Tun Thein, Khaing Maung Kyi, Aye Tun Sein and Ma Khin Thein.

A news source on the ground stated that the junta troops entered Sin Ingyi village and killed the residents who did not run away and set some houses on fire on 10 November.

"They entered the village at night and killed the people who remained in the village. Seven men and one woman were reportedly killed. Houses were also burned. Seven houses were burned to ashes,” a villager said.

After the Arakan Army (AA) attacked two military vehicles carrying supplies between Padaythar village and Sin Ingyi village in the morning of 10 November 10, the Military Council troops opened fire on the villages near Ponnagyun with heavy artillery and air attacks were also carried out.
