Myanmar Strategic Holdings Ltd (MSH) on has said it received an investment permit from the Myanmar Investment Commission for the company's first international school, Yangon American International School, according to an Alliance News article.

Headquartered in Singapore and Yangon, its earliest investments were made in the hospitality market, starting in August 2014, with the acquisition of the development and management rights of Ostello Bello Bagan, a boutique hotel located in Bagan.

In 2016, the company diversified into the education market by acquiring the rights from Pearson to open language centres under the Wall Street English brand in Myanmar. The first English language centre was opened in February 2017 and a second location in Yangon was opened in November 2017.  A third location in Myanmar Plaza opened in August 2018.

The firm said that the refurbishment of the Yangon American facilities is "well under way" and scheduled to complete by May. The school, with capacity for up to 400 students, is targeted to launch in August 2019.
