The NUG's president said officials are constantly preparing to fight for the protection of the lives and property of citizens at the regular meeting (19/2021) of the National Unity Government held on 17 August.

He said after the date for the start of fighting (D-day) has been decided, they will submit it to the NUG cabinet for a decision.

The meeting also discussed the continued appointment of Ambassador Kyaw Moe Tun to the UN and policies for the NUG to meet with the ASEAN envoy when he arrives Myanmar.

International cooperation for Covid treatment and prevention and humanitarian issues were also discussed, according to the NUG.
