The Ghost Team Ranger Myinmu (GTR MMU), a local resistance force, issued a statement on the afternoon of November 24 warning people not to use the Monywa-Mandalay highway for the travel.

The statement said, "From now on, we would like to warn all people travelling on the Monywa-Mandalay highway to stop where they arrive. "If they do not comply, we will not take any responsibility for the situation."

The warning was issued due to ongoing clashes between the People's Defense Forces and junta troops.
