Some doctors demanded the government impose tight restrictions again amid rising COVID-19 cases with between 900 and 1,000 daily as many people were roaming the streets and some were celebrating the election victory which may lead to an uncontrollable deteriorating situation.

Yangon General Hospital (YGH) Emergency Ward in-charge Dr. Maw Maw Oo said, “People are out as if it were a normal situation. They conduct their business without protection. And some places are crowded where it should not be. Even if these are not crowds and mass gatherings it is not good to see - it is impossible for maintaining social distance.”

South Dagon Township ‘Fever Clinic’ in-charge Dr. Zaw Lynn Bo said that the revellers who were celebrating election victory should control themselves to avoid rising COVID cases in the country.
