A South Korean human rights group donated ten million won for the Myanmar democracy movement in Seoul City Hall at around 11 a.m. on June 8.

Eidon Jin, the mayor of Doebon in South Korea and chairman of the Human Rights Cities Association, said, “As the feelings of the democracy movement experienced in Gwangju city, Korea, 41 years ago, are related to the pain that the people of Burma are experiencing today, we support all the people of Myanmar who are bravely fighting for the overthrow of the military dictatorship.”

Along with mayors and district governors of the South Korean Human Rights Cities Association, Yan Naing Tun, chairman of the National League for Democracy (NLD) Organizing Committee (International) Korea department and Soe Moe Thu, co-chair of the Anti-Coup Committee (Korea), also attended and accepted the donation.
