The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • On Tuesday, Spring University and Chiang Mai University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on accepting over 500 students as the preliminary programme.
  • On the 47th anniversary of Kachin Martyrs’ Day, Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) stated that together with all ethnic people including Kachin nationals, they would try their best for the establishment of a federal democratic union in the very near future.
  • On Kachin Martyrs’ Day, the NUG stated their vow that they would end the dictatorship which has ignored the political rights of ethnic people throughout history and build a true federal union which can guarantee national equality, self-determination and democracy of all ethnic people including the Kachin.
  • The NUG announced that they had contacted the Malaysian Ministry of Foreign Affairs over the issue of Myanmar migrants who were arrested in Malaysia due to illegal immigration and work.

Revolution Activities

  • In Shweku Township of Kachin State, military troops were attacked with mines at 4:30 am Wednesday. According to Myo Hla PDF, no less than 6 junta soldiers including officers died and no less than 10 others were seriously injured.
  • In Bamaw, there was a bomb explosion at the combination office including the junta administration department at 11:00 am Wednesday.
  • In Sagaing Region, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Wednesday.
  • On Wednesday, a combined rally of villages from Yinmabin and Salingyi marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Ye-U Township, there was a battle between the junta army and local PDF between Konetha Village and Yamaittha Village on Wednesday morning. Reportedly, no less than 30 junta soldiers died and 25 weapons were confiscated.
  • In Dibeyin Township, Kaingkan villagers are in need as the junta army invaded and set fire to their village.
  • In Myothit of Magwe Region, the junta army raided a house in Kani Village where 6 local PDF members had been staying on Tuesday. In the fighting, 3 junta soldiers including a captain died.
  • In Nyaung-U Township of Mandalay Region, Win Aung Htay, the junta administrator of Myaung Village and Thaung Hlaing, allegedly a junta informer, were shot dead by Bagan Ogre Force (P.D.F) at about 6:30 pm Monday.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, a junta informer and Pyusawti member was shot dead by local PDF at 3:00 pm Tuesday.
  • In Kyauktaw Township of Rakhine State, about 100 junta soldiers entered Taungpauk Village and Phayapaung Village at 8:00 am Wednesday. Consequently, more than 1000 local people had to run away.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Kyaukgyi Township of Bago Region, there was a fighting between the junta army and Karen National Union-KNU on Sunday. Reportedly, junta army officer Wai Myo Aung died.
  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, a junta army officer in chief named Wai Myo Paing died in a bomb attack via drone.
  • In Fruso Township of Karenni State, an alliance of local defence forces attacked the junta armed forces invading Solarku Village on Tuesday. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers died.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, the junta army and Shanni National Army set fire to Sezin Village with over 400 houses. Reportedly, nearly the whole village was burnt to ashes.
  • On Tuesday, Zomi Federal Union (PDF Zoland) announced that they had managed to produce fighter drones.
  • In Nammatu Township of Shan North, Ta’ang National Liberation Army arrested and inspected the users of junta army products and illegal drugs.

The Military Council

  • The junta Central Bank instructed foreign currency exchange service providers to fix prices of buying and selling the USD in a trading Band (±) to control the monopoly in the market.
  • The junta Ministry of Planning and Finance announced that they had twice paid the salaries of government employees for three months in three townships of Chin State and Rakhine State.
  • The junta propaganda media falsely claimed that PDFs had been setting fire to local villages in Sagaing Region and the military junta provided food and other items to the IDPs at Kaymar Thiwun Monastery in Aungmye Thazan Township of Mandalay Region.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that they themselves would export the rice and beans grown out of state-owned agricultural loans and they had set up an exclusive fund worth 400 billion MMK for agricultural loans.

Summary on 10 August

  • The junta armed forces have faced a great loss as revolution forces have set up drone units with their missions accomplished. According to CDM soldiers, there were drones put into operation as soon as they heard the sound of gunfire. In Chin State, there has been an ongoing military operation with drones. Reportedly, a junta army officer in chief lost his life in such an attack.
  • In Karen, Chin, Sagaing and Magwe, there were heavy battles between the junta army and local defence forces. In some areas, the military junta with a great loss had to use air strikes as they had to let go of their camps. Consequently, local people had to run away.
