The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Acting President of the NUG awarded certificates of honour to 320 people from the Anti-junta Committee (Korea), who had donated money for 12 months through their One Day Challenge.
  • In the statement on the 75th anniversary of Mon Revolution Day, the Committee Representing Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) called for the collective efforts of diversity from political groups.
  • From 5 to 9 September, there will be an exchange of discussions by the National Health Committee-NHC, Ministry of Health-NUG and Joint Coordination Committee.

Revolution Activities

  • In Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, 3 junta-appointed village administers were shot at a tea shop in Wathunda Village on Wednesday morning.
  • In Ngazun Township, local guerrillas shot dead Ba Aye from Moetaung Village at 7:00 am Wednesday for informing the junta about their landmine traps.
  • According to one of the local defence forces based in Magwe Region, they managed to produce necessary weapons with the financial support of farmers.
  • In Pauk Township, two members of Zeepya Police Station joined Myaing PDF, together with two guns and some bullets, on Wednesday.
  • In the south of Myaing Township, the junta army set fire to Paukpinkaing Village at about 7:00 am Wednesday. Reportedly, 38 people’s houses were burnt to ashes.
  • In Sagaing Region, there was an anti-junta banner at the crossroads of Kalay on Thursday.
  • On Thursday, a combined rally of villages from Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship.
  • In Myinmu Township, local PDFs attacked a car of junta army officers and two aviation oil vehicles between two villages on Sagaing-Monywa road section on Wednesday evening.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta army was attacked with mines at about 8:00 am Wednesday. Reportedly, no less than 10 junta soldiers died.
  • In Shwebo Township, a military convoy of aviation oil vehicles was attacked with mines on Sagaing-Shwebo Road on Wednesday evening. Reportedly, no less than 5 junta soldiers died.
  • In Minkin Township, a local PDF attacked a junta vessel on the Chindwin River on Wednesday.
  • In Ayadaw Township, local PDF found a pair of earrings in Zibinwine Village in the area clearance operation after the junta army left. They have been looking for the owner.
  • In Butalin Township, local PDF announced that they managed to produced long-range projectiles which could target up to 1,200 metre.
  • In Pale Township, there used to be 200 villages. After the military coup, the junta army set fire to about 20 villages.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, junta soldier Zarni Aung left the junta troop and joined the public through Triple Two.
  • In Thaketa Township of Yangon Region, there was a time bomb attack in the compound of the Holdings Hotel, where the junta oil vehicles tend to be stationed, on Wednesday night. Reportedly, there were exchanges of fire.
  • In Thaketa Township, a police sergeant Ashaygyi, disguised as a motorbike taxi driver, was shot dead by a local underground force on Wednesday afternoon.
  • In Hpakant of Kachin State, there was a rally in support of the KIA, PDF and NUG on Thursday. They also protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Pekone Township of Shan South, U Fransisco, Chair of Kayan Literature and Culture Association, was shot dead by two unknown men on his way back from his farm on Thursday morning.
  • The Network of Computer University Students’ Unions created Doh Aungbwe or Our Victory mobile app for the collection and dissemination of Spring Revolution newsletters issued from all over the country.
  • In an exclusive interview with Mizzima, anti-junta actor Min Maw Kun said that he was in Australia together with his family and he would come back to the revolution area soon.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In the press conference on Thursday, spokesperson of the Arakan Army-AA said that they had arrested Khine Paw Lin, not because he was a CEC member of Arakan Liberation Party- ALP, but because he had committed crimes against the Rakhine public.
  • The spokesperson of AA said that they would deal with the junta Rakhine State government as necessary if they continue to give trouble to Rakhine people.
  • On Thursday, ULA/AA claimed that except for AA, no other revolution forces were needed for Rakhine State.
  • U Khine Thuka, spokesperson of AA, said that there would be no political discussion between them and the junta army for the moment and there might be heavy battles again if the military junta continue to act unjustly.
  • In Tanaing Township of Kachin State, Kachin Independent Army-KIA attacked the junta Wayazut People’s Army Camp on Lido Road at about 3:00 am Thursday.
  • In the speech on Kachin Martyrs’ Day, the Chair of the KIO said that they would join hands with appropriate forces and organizations for the end of the military dictatorship.

The Military Council

  • In the Government Coordination Meeting on Wednesday, the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing said that it was necessary to work for the economic growth of the country within 6 months.
  • The junta leader said that although Myanmar students and youth pass the exams, they were weak at reasoning skill as they did not really learn.
  • The second junta leader Soe Win said that so-called people’s security forces would be formed for local stability.
  • The military junta appointed Dr. Wah Wah Mg as deputy minister of Investment and International Economic Relations and transferred the former deputy minister U Than Aung Kyaw to be a member of the junta Union Election Commission.
  • According to the junta Fuel Oil Committee, the price of 92 fuel oil increased again up to more than 2100 MMK per litre on Thursday.
  • Due to the junta’s financial restrictions, there have been instabilities in the local market. On Thursday, a USD was worth over 2700 MMK and a tical of gold was worth more than 25 lakh MMK.
  • The junta Communication Department stated that the undersea fibre had been damaged temporarily by the weather, resulting in the slow internet connection in the country. Reportedly, they have been repairing it.
  • According to the junta propaganda newspaper, the military junta has been carrying out activities for Eainshaymin or Crown Prince palm trees in Patheingyi Township of Mandalay Region to be on the list of the UNESCO.
  • In Maungdaw Township of Rakhine State, two junta-appointed village administrators resigned due to lack of guarantees for security.
  • On 4 August, the military junta issued an emergency instruction in secret to the junta armed forces and all departmental staff in Bamaw, Manci, Moemauk and Shweku in Kachin State to take special cautions for their security.
  • On Wednesday, the junta armed forces raided some local villages in Madayar Township of Mandalay Region, demanded money and beat no less than 8 people.

Summary on 11 August

  • In Rakhine State, there has been military tension between the Arakan Army-AA and the junta armed forces. According to AA, there would be no political discussions between them and there could be heavy battles again if the military junta continue to trouble the public. It seems as if AA was getting ready for the fight. On the other hand, the military junta has been silent about that.
  • Due to mismanagements of the military junta, the public have been in various hardships. Due to various financial policies, the price of the USD has increased sharply and the same is true for gold, fuel oil, edible oil and other goods. The situation would get worse if they continue with their current policies.
  • Throughout the country, revolution activities have been in great momentum. There have been casualties among members of the junta armed forces and junta pillars on a daily basis.
