The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Risks Management provided humanitarian aid worth 188.97 million MMK all over the country in November.
  • Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Risks Management announced that with technical support from local and international meteorologists, the weather forecast was released weekly.
  • Revolution Activities
  • Nay Lin Aung, a sergeant from Wampone police station in Tachilait Township, joined Karenni Democratic Force for the downfall of the military dictatorship and for establishing federal democracy.
  • In Ayadaw Township of Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces raided Keba Village on Monday morning and set fire to houses. According to local residents, over 100 houses were burnt down.
  • In a village of Sagaing Region, PDF youth expressed their desire against the military dictatorship.
  • On Monday afternoon, Ye-U Township PDF announced that they had conducted attacks with bombs and gunfire at the township police station and Aungchantha administration office.
  • In a village in Shwebo Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • As a 309-day protest, Kalay people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • At about 10:28 am Monday, a troop of 50 junta soldiers on foot was attacked with mines by Golden Triangle Guerrilla Force as they left Yinmabin for Pale. Reportedly, no less than 30 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kani Township, a military vessel, which had been attacked with mines by an alliance of local PDFs, sank in Chindwin River near Medin Village on Monday morning.
  • In Wetlet Township, farmers carried out a harvest protest against the military dictatorship on Monday morning.
  • As a 278-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Alone of Monywa Township, the junta army raided a monastery and arrested 4 monks and 8 people, including Ko Min Theik Tun, a journalist from Regional News Agency.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Monks’ Union conducted an anti-junta movement, reciting Parittas.
  • At about 3:00 pm Sunday, a combined force of local PDFs carried out an attack at the junta armed forces in Mingala-U Ward school in Taungtha Township. Reportedly, 4 junta soldiers died and a captain was injured.
  • At about 6:00 am Monday, two junta soldiers in plain clothes were shot while they were shopping at 37 street market in Mandalay. Reportedly, one of them died.
  • Rangers of Mandalay announced that Mandalay-based Urban Guerrillas and PDFs were not responsible for the case in which Ko Arkar Phyo and his wife Ma Chan Mya Nyein had been shot dead in Chanmya Thazi Township on Sunday morning.
  • In Taungtha Township, the junta armed forces took away cows and belongings from the house of Ko Tila, who had been issued a warrant for arrest by the military junta, in Tadar (West) Village. According to local residents, they also destroyed some pieces of property.
  • On Monday, Mandalay Strike Force took to the streets and expressed their objection to the military dictatorship, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Taungdwingyi of Magwe Region, a combined force of local PDFs conducted bomb attacks at the city development office and MPT office on Monday noon.
  • In Pulaw Township of Taninthayi Region, assistant education officer U Tha Win and two young women died as they were knocked down by a car, owned by the junta army, on Sunday night.
  • In North Dagon Myothit Township, U Tin Hlaing, hundred-household leader in Ward 31, was shot dead by some unknown people at his house at about 10:30 am Monday.
  • In Dawei of Taninthayi Region, Ko Chit Naing, a first-year student of Distance Education, was sentenced to 11 years in prison at the junta court on Monday, according to Dawei University Students’ Union.
  • On Monday morning, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi was investigated at court for the charge of renting No. (60) compound on University Avenue in Yangon at a lower price than the current price for construction of Daw Khin Kyi Foundation Office.
  • On Monday, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung had to make a statement regarding a lawsuit against State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi with a charge of natural disaster. Reportedly, he could not come to do so as he was not allowed to travel by prison authorities.
  • In Oatpho Township of Bago Region, there was fighting between local PDF and the junta army in Gyokoebin Village. After that, 3 villagers were arrested by junta soldiers.
  • In Padegone of Thegone Township, U Zaw Win, a journalist of Luhtu Alinn News Agency, was shot dead, according to local residents.
  • On Sunday evening, student groups hung a banner against bloody education at a basic education high school in Taunggyi.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Monekoe of Shan North, there was heavy fighting between the junta army and MNDAA at 6:00 am Monday.
  • According to the Kokang, the junta helicopters dropped bombs on MNDAA camps in Monekoe Area of Shan North on Monday afternoon.
  • According to Khine Thuka, spokesperson of AA, ULA/AA would carry on with their strategic path although they had great respect for the revolution of Myanmar people against the military dictatorship and would like them to gain justice.
  • According to KNU Mutraw Newsletter, 5 military trucks carrying over 100 junta soldiers headed for Pha-Pun on Monday morning. It was likely that they would support and rescue the junta troops stuck in Pha-Pun Area.
  • According to local residents, junta soldiers with 12 military trucks took a position at Swedaw Hill near Laykaykaw and thus, there was tension between both sides.

The Military Council

  • The military junta announced on Monday that there had been gunfire in Mandalay on Sunday, killing a layman, an administrator and a civilian. They also claimed that an assassin of a nurse and her husband was caught alive and 8 others were found dead.
  • According to the junta newspaper, the cooperative department in Yangon Region has been selling rice and oil under the brand- ‘Great’ for the public at reasonable prices.
  • The junta newspaper said that PDF members who had killed junta informers in Mongoke were the ones who had completed training by TNLA.

Summary on 14th December

  • There were heavy battles between the junta armed forces and MNDAA. Reportedly, the military junta used helicopters in their attacks. On the other hand, a large number of the junta armed forces went to Pha-Pun of Kayin. They were preparing to enter Laykaykaw, a town under the administration of KNU. As they had been stationing in the neighbouring area, local residents were concerned that there might be battles.
  • Although the military junta announced that they could shoot dead 7 members of Mandalay PDF who had assassinated the nurse and her husband, it was still controversial in reality.
  • As for Sagaing Region, they had great momentum in the revolution against the military dictatorship. On the other hand, the junta armed forces set fire to the whole villages and thus, local residents were in trouble. They tend to do such attacks targeting civilians when they are faced with a great loss. They did the same to Rohingya villages.
