The National Unity Government (NUG)

 

  • On the 75th anniversary of the Martyrs’ Day, the Committee Representing the Pyutaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) and the National Unity Government (NUG) will jointly organize an event at 9:30 am on Tuesday. Reportedly, it will be broadcast live on the social media pages of CRPH, NUG, PVTV and Radio NUG.
  • At 10:00 am on Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and the Teams of Public Administration for Special Areas. Reportedly, they discussed departmental activities in various sectors such as defence, security, electricity, communication, taxation, health, education, judiciary affairs, natural resources and environmental conservation in special administrative areas.
  • In the Townhall Meeting, the NUG Minister of Defence said that ethnic armed organisations (EAOs) would get involved more in the revolution.
  • According to the Kawlin Township Public’s Administration Team, people's vehicles have been damaged due to petrol being adulterated with water. Therefore, they detained the drivers of two trucks carrying fuel oil.
  • Moemait Township PDF announced that the public should not use the Mandalay to Moemait road at any time as the military tension in the area have got worse since the expansion of the junta armed forces.

Revolutionary Forces

  • In Hlaing Township in Yangon Region, a captain from the junta army factory in Ward (2) and his wife were shot dead at about 9:30 a.m. on Monday. ANONYMOUS Urban Guerrillas claim they carried out the attack.
  • On Monday, ANONYMOUS Urban Guerrillas announced that they had cleared junta informers and servants from Yangon in July.
  • In Tontay Township, a betel seller and alleged junta informer was shot dead at 7:00 a.m. on Monday.
  • On Monday, Yangon strike groups marched in honor of General Aung San and all the other martyrs including the ones from the Spring Revolution.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, strike committees hung a banner with a quote by General Aung San- ‘The army must be the servant to the public, not the public to the army’.
  • According to RFA, the political prisoners from Insein Prison protested prior to the Martyrs’ Day by writing ‘Political Prisoners’ Group- Yangon’ on their blue prison uniforms.
  • In Mingaladone Township, youths detonated a bomb at the gates of the junta army investigation camp at about 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
  • In South Dagon Township, GOD Hand Force carried out an explosion at the junta administration office of Kyisu Ward at about 6:00 a.m. on Sunday.
  • In Mandalay, a combined rally of strike committees and monks’ unions conducted a protest against the military dictatorship prior to the 75th anniversary of Martyrs’ Day.
  • In Maha Aungmye Township, there was a grenade attack on the junta administration office in Hayma Marlar South Ward on Monday morning.
  • In Tadar-U Township, Mandalay UGs threw two bombs at the junta army gate at 7:45 p.m. Sunday. Reportedly, two junta soldiers were injured.
  • In Nganzun Township, the junta administrator of Tanaunggone Village and his wife were killed by being beheaded.
  • In Sagaing Region, students’ unions from Salingyi Township and Yinmabin Township conducted an anti-junta movement in front of the graves of those who had lost lives in the Spring Revolution to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Martyrs’ Day.
  • In the west of Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of local people marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Kani Township, the Strike Committee expressed its disapproval of the military dictatorship at the place where 12 heroes had lost lives the previous year.
  • In Monywa Township, local people marched against the military dictatorship on Monday morning, chanting ‘The martyrs never die’.
  • In the west of Khin-U Township, the junta armed forces opened fire from military helicopters at local villages without any battles at about 10:00 a.m. Monday.
  • Armed Revolutionary Force K.U made an emergency announcement that the public must not use Myindaung-Thawuitta-Monehla road section starting from Monday morning.
  • In Mawlight Township, there was a fighting between local PDFs and the junta army who set fire to the houses in Konekaton Village on Sunday. Reportedly, no less than six junta soldiers died.
  • In Yinmabin Township, the junta army suddenly raided the forest near Bantbway Village at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Reportedly, they arrested 60 IDPs and burnt eight huts.
  • In Hommalin Township, the Shanni National Army led by Linn Kyaw arrested and killed U Aung San Win, a CDM headmaster of the middle school in Thetketaung Village.
  • In Dawei in Tanintharyi Region, youth expressed their objection to the military dictatorship on the main road on Monday morning, by spraying red paint on a banner that said: ‘The martyrs never die; 19 July’.
  • In Myeik Township, two Pyu Saw Htee members, who had demanded 4000 MMK per household and bought a car, were shot dead in Toneyaw Village on Sunday night.
  • In Longlone Township, Kyaw Soe, Pyu Saw Htee member in Nyinmaw Village, was killed on Sunday night.
  • Thayawaddy Prison has a bad reputation because prison staff beat political prisoners heads every day.
  • In Mobye on the border between Shan south and Karenni states, the junta armed forces fired mortars into the centre of the town on Monday. This set fire to houses in Sikar Ward.
  • In Moekaung Township in Kachin State, there was an explosion at Nammati Police Station at about 9:00 p.m. on Sunday when motorcyclists conducted a mine attack.
  • According to a soldier who joined the CDM, junta soldiers have been on drugs in frontline battles and they are allowed to do so.
  • On Sunday, the Interim Education Network announced that they would implement a mechanism of public education by networking among public schools for the education of children.
  • On Sunday, some revolutionary forces announced that they would accept the teachers related to Kaung for You Education.
  • The Democratic Youth Council called for participation in profile change campaigns on Facebook and Telegram under the theme- ‘Let’s uproot the military dictatorship by the spirit of martyrs’ on Martyrs’ Day.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • On Sunday afternoon, The Arakan Army (AA) arrested U Hla Shwe, the administrator of Ponnagyun Township, between Kyaukdaw Township and Ponnagyun Township.
  • In the north of Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, there was fighting between the AA and the junta army on Monday morning.
  • In Chin State, soldier Phyo Wai Oo from the junta army Ka-Ma-Ya (304) and his wife joined CDF Matupi on 10 July.
  • According to an EC member of the Karen National Union (KNU) will accept the teachers and students at risk of arrest by the junta army for their relations to Kaung for You.
  • According to Peace Process Steering Committee (PPST), there will be a second meeting between the military junta and the EAOs who had joined the previous peace talk.

The Military Council

  • Mya Tun Oo, the junta Defence Minister, went to Lahe and Hommalin in the Naga self-administered area in Sagaing Region in recent days and met with departmental officials.
  • On Sunday, the junta Minister of Labour said that they had been issuing Overseas Work Identification Cards on a daily basis from Monday to Saturday at Pinlone Training School in North Dagon Township in Yangon Region.
  • At the opening ceremony of the FDA Office in Yangon on Sunday, the junta Health Minister said that they had been making an effort to draw up drafts of national food laws, pharmaceutical laws and cosmetic laws which would meet the needs of the country.
  • The junta edible oil committee announced that the reference price for Yangon-base wholesale oil was 3,665 MMK per viss from 18 to 24 July. Reportedly, it was nearly 1,000 MMK cheaper than last week.
  • According to the junta propaganda, three PDF members without any crimes were sent back to their parents in Thayet Township in Magwe Region on Sunday.
  • The junta MRTV announced that they would live broadcast the Martyrs’ Day event
  • After the three statements by the military junta to control the out- flow of foreign currency, the dollar price has sharply increased in the local market. On Monday afternoon, it was worth up to 2,350 MMK per dollar.
  • In the north of Maungdaw Township in Rakhine State, there was gunfire near local villages on Monday morning. Reportedly, a military truck was damaged due to a mine attack.

Summary on 19 July

  • There have been attacks on members of the junta armed forces, junta pillars and informers on a daily basis. It shows that the military junta cannot handle security well. They have suffered great losses in fighting across the country.
  • In Sagaing Region, the interim public administration has been partially successful. It can be said that they are getting more powerful. They have also warned junta staff to leave the area as soon as possible.
