The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Reportedly, the Spring University joined hands with Victoria University of Wellington, a global research institute based in New Zealand.
  • At 9:30 am on Sunday, there was an online presentation about the activities of the Committee Representing the Pyitaungsu Hluttaw (CRPH) to members in Kachin State, Mandalay Region and Sagaing Region.
  • At 10:00 am on Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Special Administrative Region Teams.
  • The NUG Ministry of Human Rights announced an international response and action against the military junta in the first and second week of December.

Revolutionary Activities

  • In Launglon Township in Tanintharyi Region, the Dawei District Democratic Movement Committee led public campaigns against the military dictatorship in a village on Monday afternoon.
  • In Yangon Region, local PDFs conducted attacked Hmawbi Air Force with three projectiles on Saturday.
  • In Myaung Township in Sagaing Region, there were simultaneous attacks on four junta armed forces posts
  • In Khanti Township, four fully-armed policemen ran away from Nansipun Jade Upper Mine Police Station.
  • In Indaw Township, nearly 40 junta soldiers died in local battles from Friday to Sunday.
  • On Monday morning, a rally of local people in Taze Township marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Yinmabin North, a rally of local villages protested against the military dictatorship.
  • In Indaw Township, more than 40 junta soldiers died and another one with drug addiction was captured in local battles that lasted for three days.
  • In Madayar Township in Mandalay Region, local PDFs confiscated weapons from a military support truck on Friday afternoon.
  • In Yesagyo Township in Magwe Region, the junta army raided Byiba West Village and set fire to people’s houses. Reportedly, over 60 houses were burnt down.
  • In Pakkoku, local PDFs attacked the junta army at the town gate. Reportedly, three junta soldiers died and weapons were confiscated.
  • In Oregon State in the US, the Overseas Democratic Alliance Oregon organised a showing of the movie- ‘The Road Not Taken’ by the Director Ko Pauk on Saturday.
  • In Malaysia, there was a football match to raise funds for the Spring Revolution. Reportedly, it earned around 100 lakh MMK.
  • In Thayetchaung Township, the junta army arrested some rubber plantation workers on Monday afternoon.
  • In Pulaw Township, local PDFs arrested two drug-dealers in Lakku Village at about 8:00 pm on Saturday. Reportedly, they warned two other people.

Ethnic Armed Organisations

  • In the west of Pinlone in Shan south, the military junta ordered the Shan State Progressive Party- Shan State Army (SSPP/SSA) to again retreat from Sanin-Phaungsai Area.
  • In Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, CNDF VAKOK announced that there had been a training of Special Force with the trainers from the US Army.
  • On the way out of Kawkareik in Kayin State under the control of Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade (6), there was heavy fighting between the junta army and a combined force from the KNLA and PDFs on the Asia Road at about 9:00 am on Monday.

The Military Council

  • According to Mekong News, Man Nyein Maung, a member of the military junta, paid respect to Thura U Tin Oo, the National League for Democracy (NLD) patron.
  • The junta propaganda media stated that in the area under the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) Brigade (3), TNLA members transporting weapons were arrested along with their weapons near Lilu Village.
  • The military junta announced that it had confiscated 499 Type-81 rifles and related things near Maipyin Village Tract in Hopong Township in Shan south.
  • According to the junta propaganda media, seven members of the KNU and PDFs lost their lives, and weapons were confiscated near Paytakhat Village in Thayetchaung Township in Tanintharyi Region.
  • In commemoration of the 75th Independence Day, there was an opening ceremony for a nine-storey building in Pathein General Hospital on Saturday.

Summary on 20 December

  • With various approaches, the military junta has been trying to divide the unity of the NLD. The junta will do anything to hold on tightly to power.
  • Reportedly, even former members of the US Army reached Sagaing Region and provided training to defence forces. It is a tonic for the revolution and helps revolutionary forces to organise themselves.
