The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • The NUG announced that they had managed to connect about 180,000 CDM staff with the fund earned from the sale of the Spring Lottery.
  • The NUG called on everyone throughout the country not to use electricity from 8:00 pm to 8:30 pm in honor of the revolution and against the junta army day on 27 March.
  • According to the representative office in Norway, the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi would be celebrated in Aung San Su Kyi Park there. Reportedly, Froland Mayor and the committee of the park invited the NUG representative to Norway and the team to join it.
  • At 2:00 pm Friday, there was a meeting between the Committee on International Relations under CRPH and the Ministry of Economics and Commerce-NUG via video conferencing.

Revolution Activities

  • In Taunggyi Township of Shan State, 6 young people, who had made donations to the IDPs from Dimawso of Karenni State, were arrested by the junta armed forces on Thursday.
  • In Hpakant Township of Kachin State, a combined rally of gems workers marched for the downfall of the military dictatorship on Saturday, chanting anti-junta slogans.
  • In Yangon, Labor Alliance (LA) expressed their desire for the oppressed Food Panda Riders and against the military dictatorship.
  • In Thanlyin Township, the military junta sent a letter of notification telling 120 families of CDM staff from No. (1) Oil Refinery to move from the staff housing on 8 April at the latest.
  • In Yangon, a protester expressed his disapproval of the military dictatorship, holding an anti-junta sign, singing a revolution song and stepping on the photo of the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing.
  • Somewhere in Yangon, a combined rally of university students’ unions conducted a movement prior to 77th anti-fascist day, hanging an anti-junta banner.
  • On Saturday, Yangon youth celebrated the birthday of Ko Phyo Zayar Thaw in detention and protested against the military dictatorship.
  • At 4:30 am Friday, Special Task Agency of Burma (STA) carried out a bomb attack on Myat Myitta Mon petro shop at Ywama turning.
  • In Htautgyant Township, Dark Shadow (YGN) conducted an explosion on a local police station on Saturday morning.
  • In North Dagon Myothit Township, Special Task Agency of Burma (STA) made an attack with 3 grenades on Denko gas station on Pinlone Road at 7:55 pm Friday.
  • In Sagaing Region, the junta armed forces were attacked with a variety of mines on Monywa-Ayadaw Road at 6:30 am, 9:00 am and 2:20 pm Friday. Reportedly, no less than 8 junta soldiers died.
  • In Monywa Township, Basic Education Students Union marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday morning in memory of Kaung Set Hein who had been shot dead by the junta army 8 months ago.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of 3 villages marched against the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • As a 381-day protest, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin marched for the end of the military dictatorship on Saturday.
  • In Natmaut Township of Magwe Region, the junta army raided a temporary camp of the Ngabyema Guerrilla Force near Dantthalunbin Village at 6:00 am Saturday. Reportedly, they also arrested 2 guerrilla members.
  • In Thanutpin Township of Bago Region, the junta army arrested 6 local people on Friday night, accusing them of being PDF members.
  • In Latbadan Township, Basic Education Students Union hung an anti-junta banner.
  • In Hopin Township of Kachin State, there was a clash between a combined force of PDFs and the junta army invading the area on 19 March. Reportedly, no less than 30 junta soldiers died.
  • In Kangyidaunt Township of Ayeyarwaddy Region, there was a bomb explosion at the house of Min Htut, junta-appointed administrator of Myinkaseip Village, at 9:00 pm Friday.
  • In Maha Aungmye Township of Mandalay Region, there was gunfire aimed at the junta forces inspecting the public in front of the junta army compound on 78 Street and 38X39 Street. Reportedly, a traffic police officer was injured.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • KNU announced on Saturday that the public were to stop using the Kawkarait-Myawaddy and Myawaddy-Wawlay sections on Asia Road starting from 27 March as a large number of the junta armed forces entered Duplaya District under the control of the KNU Brigade (6).
  • In Wawlay Sub-Township under the control of KNU Brigade (6), the junta armed forces conducted air strikes with fighter jets on Friday night.
  • In Dwelo Township under the control of KNU Brigade (5), KNLA shot at a helicopter of the military junta surveiling the area on Friday afternoon. According to Mutraw Newsletter, the helicopter was hit with bullets.
  • In Phalan Township of Chin State, there was fighting between the junta army and CNDF in Rihkhawdar of India-Myanmar border on Saturday morning. Reportedly, 2 CNDF members were arrested.
  • In Narga self-administered area of Sagaing Region, a local PDF warned all administrators, junta-pillars in their area, to resign by 30 April at the latest.

The Military Council

  • On Friday, the military junta organized a reopening ceremony of Mandalay City Train, which had to be stopped due to a lack of passengers.
  • Reportedly, there were meetings between the junta Minister of International Cooperation, Europe Asia Economic Commission and Russian Economic delegation.
  • According to the junta media, the junta Minister of Social Welfare met with the project manager of the Russia-Myanmar Association for Friendly Cooperation.
  • Reportedly, Chair, Vice-Chairs and responsible personnel of the junta Central Bank had a meeting with the Europe Asia Economic Commission.

Summary on 26 March

  • Despite very few anti-junta movements in Yangon in recent days, revolution activities and protests regained great momentum the previous day. As for Mandalay Region, they had a decrease in such activities due to too much oppression of the junta army.
  • In Sagaing and Magwe, there were protests and battles as usual. Except for Chin, Karen and Karenni with heavy fighting, there were almost no anti-junta movements in other states and regions.
  • As for Karen State, they had constant battles against the junta armed forces. KNU closed Asia road sections and thus, there might be more battles in the area.
