Spring Revolution Daily News for 3 June 2023

The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • At 3:00 pm Thursday, there was a meeting between the Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration-NUG and District People’s Administration.
  • Union Prime Minister of the NUG claimed that the Spring Revolution proves it is not possible to go against the desire of the public.
  • In the statement by the Acting President, the Union Government of the NUG designated the Ministry of Planning, Finance and Investment-NUG for the management of the Interim Central Bank.

Revolution Activities

  • In the west of Dimawso Township in Karenni State, over 1000 displaced people have difficulty in their daily basic needs as the regular donors have not come there.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, there were three mine attacks on the junta army within a day. Reportedly, no less than 6 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • In Pakkoku Township, there was a bomb attack via drone on Inbin Inspection Gate on Thursday.
  • In Pakkoku, a soldier from the junta army Regiment (101), along with weapons, defected to Young Force UG.
  • In Chauk, Aung Thu Tint, a junta army sergeant, was shot dead on his way to go shopping.
  • In Myingyan Township of Mandalay Region, there was a bomb attack via drone on the junta army Regiment (15) while some military officers were in there.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township, there was an attack on Pyusawti members in Ponnagyi Village. Reportedly, 3 of them were caught alive together with Tumi guns and weapons.
  • For effective military operation in Mandalay, the Devil Underground Force has conducted the RPG7 Campaign.
  • In Longlone Township of Taninthayi Region, Democratic Movement Committee celebrated an event in memory of Colonel Ba Htoo who sacrificed his life for the country 78 years ago.
  • In Pulaw Township, a mother died of cardiac arrest when she saw her daughter lifeless due to a mortar attack by the junta army.
  • In Kani Township, Local Revolution Force has been providing mobile healthcare services to the displaced people whose houses had been burnt by the junta armed forces.
  • In the southwest of Khin-U Township in Sagaing Region, the junta army set fire to Kyi-I Village at 7:30 am Friday.
  • In Monywa, there was an anti-junta protest at a local market on Friday morning.
  • On Friday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Chaung-U Township, the junta army burnt 27 houses in Shan Htoo Gyi Village and wrote threatening words.
  • In Kyaikto Township of Mon State, a combined force of PDFs attacked the junta inspection gate on Moatpalin Crossroads. Reportedly, 3 junta soldiers died and many others were injured.
  • The Organization for International Press Freedom called for the release of journalist Ma Hmoo Yadanar Khat Mo Mo Tun without any exception and for the end of imprisonment of journalists in Myanmar for their journalism activities.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Pekone Township of Shan South, the junta army has had a great loss in local battles since 20 May. According to the Mid-Region Dimawso Force, the lifeless bodies of 13 junta soldiers were found.
  • Between Hakha and Thanglang in Chin State, 7 junta soldiers died and some weapons were confiscated in the battle at Thimis Plain on Thursday.
  • At 6:30 am Thursday, the revolution forces attacked the junta army gate on Donthami Bridge connecting Thatone Township of Mon State and Hpa-Ang Township of Kayin State. Reportedly, both sides lost members.
  • In Maila on Thursday, the junta peace team met with the three Northern Alliance groups including the Arakan Army-AA. Reportedly, the Alliance discussed three main points.

The Military Council

  • In their meeting on the first day, the junta NSPNC and the Northern Alliance including the AA discussed the matters such as the release of prisoners and the removal from blacklisted organizations.
  • Myanmar Examination Department announced that there were some swindlers who demanded money for the access to the result of the matriculation exam in advance.
  • The junta leader Min Aung Hlaing urged the Myanmar Football Team, which had reached the final match in the 32nd SEA Game in Cambodia, to proceed to the Asian and global levels.

  • In Sagaing, Magwe, Chin, Karenni and Kayin, the junta armed forces have had a great loss in local battles.
  • With a great loss in every sector, the military junta is trying to turn the ethnic armed forces, which play a vital role in the Spring Revolution. In other words, Min Aung Hlaing and his group are trapped with no escape.
