The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • Yaw People’s Defence Force (YPDF) conducted a conference and set up 8 more departments including defence, strategic study, research and a civil advisory team.
  • At 10:00 am Sunday, there was a meeting between the NUG Central Committee on the Interim Public Administration and Township People’s Administration from Ayeyarwady Region, Taninthayi Region and Bago Region.
  • Ministry of Education-NUG called for breaking free from being prey to those who kneel down in front of the military junta.
  • The California State Senate officially welcomed Dr. Zaw Wai Soe, Union Minister of the NUG.
  • In Australia, Minister of Human Rights-NUG arrived at Melbourne on Sunday. Reportedly, he and the Deputy Minister were warmly welcomed by CRPH/NUG Support Group (Victoria Group).
  • According to Ministry of Defence-NUG, there were over 400 battles in No. (1) Military Region including the mid-country in March, killing over 600 junta soldiers. In April, the military junta lost over 500 soldiers.

Revolution Activities

  • In honor of the birthday of State Counsellor Daw Aung San Su Kyi imprisoned by the military junta, Democratic Youth Council has been conducting a sale of real silk to raise funds.
  • In Beelin Township of Mon State, a bomb dropped from a drone exploded in a compound in Daung Village. Consequently, 2 local teenagers lost their lives.
  • In Sagaing Region, a combined rally of Salingyi and Yinmabin protested against the military dictatorship on Sunday.
  • In Myinmu Township, there was a mine attack on the junta army.
  • On Monday morning, the junta armed forces set fire to two villages in Kantbalu Township and a village in Taze Township.
  • On Monday, a rally of Yinmabin North marched against the military dictatorship.
  • In Loilinlay Township on the border of Shan and Karenni, a mortar fell in Konehmi Village, injuring two children.
  • In the north of Kawkarait Township in Kayin State, the junta army conducted an aerial bombing on a monastery.
  • In Yesagyo Township of Magwe Region, the junta army shot dead a man who had entered the village to put out a fire.
  • In the south of Pauk Township, the junta army set fire to Chaungnar Village for no apparent reason. In recent days, they have burnt no less than 5 local villages.
  • In Thabaitgyin Township of Mandalay Region, the junta army raided and burnt Sezingone Village. Reportedly, a local resident lost their life and 3 houses were damaged.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • The Kachin Independence Organization and the Palaung State Liberation Front had a meeting and agreed to 5 points including to fight against the military dictatorship.
  • Somewhere in the frontline battle of Karenni State, 4 members of Medic Unit Demoso lost their lives due to a junta air attack on Saturday.
  • In KyarIn Seikgyi Township of Kayin State, the junta army shot mortars onto the police station and the court. Reportedly, the buildings were damaged.

The Military Council

  • In Demoso Township of Karenni State, junta army officer Zay Yar Myo aged 35 died in the battle against the Karenni National Defence Force on 23 May.
  • In the south of Kalay Township in Sagaing Region, there was a mine attack on the junta army near Paukkone Village. Reportedly, nearly 20 junta soldiers, including Captain Tin Kyaw Htwe, died.
  • The junta Ministry of Science and Technology stated that young students and university students in Myanmar have been interested in the study of nuclear energy.
  • According to Myanmar Embassy in the Philippines, they managed to rescue 42 Myanmar people, the victims of human trafficking, from forced labour at an online game company in Mabalacat City of Pampanga State.
  • Myanmar’s Economic Bank announced that they would change the interest rate for deposits at their bank starting on 1 June 2023.
  • Rapper and vocalist Byu Har, who had criticized the military junta for power outages, will be taken to court in North Dagon Myothit Township in a few days time.
  • According to the junta Magwe Regional Government, a botanical garden would be built along with a resort near Daungnay Village in Magwe Township.

Summary on 29 May

  • In Kayin State and Karenni State, the junta armed forces have been shooting at civilians and religious buildings on purpose. They just misuse the religions only when they want.
  • In the areas under the influence of the PDFs, the junta army cannot conduct invasions on the ground and thus, they have used mortars and fighter jets. For such reasons, it is necessary to uproot their income source so they cannot use those weapons.
