The National Unity Government (NUG)

  • In a report on the first six months of the People’s Defensive War, that came out on Sunday, the NUG Minister of Defence, U Yi Mon stated that PDFs had been established with donations from the public and had not received any assistance from abroad. He also added that they had received donations from the general public worth $30 million USD.
  • In the same report, the NUG stated that they had managed to establish interim public administration power based in areas controlled by PDFs.
  • The NUG Ministry of Defence announced on Monday that they had been looking into military crimes and reports could be made to Central Commission on War Crime Investigations so that those who commit such crimes can be identified.
  • On Sunday, there was a meeting between the public administration teams for special areas and responsible personnel from the NUG; the Minister of Home Affairs U Lwin Ko Latt and the Deputy Minister for Finance and Investment.
  • Blood Money has been carrying out a petition campaign to take action against the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing at the International Criminal Court.

Revolution Activities

  • In Hlaingthaya Township in Yangon Region, a combined rally of students’ unions conducted an anti-junta protest on Monday and put up a poster saying: “Never forget 14.3.2021” in memory of hundreds of people who had been killed by junta armed forces last year.
  • In Mingala Taung Nyunt Township, members of the junta armed forces wearing plain clothes conducted a violent crackdown on a march against the military dictatorship at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Reportedly, three young girls under 18 were arrested.
  • On Monday, a combined rally of the Tamway Strike Committee and Students’ Unions carried out an event near Thida Stop in memory of Ko Kant Nya Hein, a medical student aged 17 who died at a protest near Tamway Police Station last year.
  • On Sunday, the Thingangyun Township Students’ Union and the Ragoon Empire (RGE) led an event in memory of those who had been killed by the junta armed forces in front of Thingangyun Police Station last year.
  • In Shwepyitha Township, there was a rally by the township strike committee and students’ unions conducted an anti-junta protest in memory of 10 people who had been shot dead by the junta armed forces last year.
  • On Monday evening, there was a bomb explosion at the corner of the park where the junta armed forces had been on watch duty, between the Sanayma Stop and the BOC Stop in Hlaingthaya Township.
  • On Saturday night, the junta armed forces arrested Director Mighty at his house in Bauttaw in Yankin Township.
  • On Saturday, the junta army sealed off the apartment of Daw Nwe Nwe Win, a regional MP from the NLD, in Alone Township.
  • On Sunday, the Mingaladone Township Students’ Union hung a banner cursing the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing and gave an anti-junta talk on YBS.
  • In Aung Pan in Shan State south, Maung Kyaw, allegedly a junta informer who had been notorious as Aung Pan Min Aung Hlaing, was shot dead near Pinsein tea-shop on Sunday night while he was walking home.
  • In Naungcho in Shan State north, there were battles between the junta armed forces and Northern PDFs on Sunday and Monday. Reportedly, no less than 40 junta soldiers died.
  • On Sunday morning, a MyTel telecom tower at the house of Soe Naing, a pro-military man in Naungcho, was blown up with mines
  • In Pakkoku in Magwe Region, local people conducted a dawn protest against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Yesagyo Township, the junta army raided Thedaw Village on Monday morning and killed the elderly who could not run away by burning them. According to the Pakkoku Public Strike Committee, the number of victims and their names are still unknown.
  • In Loikaw Township in Karenni State, there were battles between the junta armed forces and a combined force of local PDFs + the KNDF from 11 to 14 March. Reportedly, seven junta soldiers died. As for Loikaw PDF, they lost a member.
  • In Dimawso Township, the junta army randomly fired mortars into Dawse Village, where IDPs were sheltering, on Monday morning. The village clinic was damaged and some villagers were injured.
  • In a village in Salingyi Township, there was a march against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • On the 368th day of protest, a combined rally of people from Salingyi North and Yinmabin East marched against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • On their 400th day of protest, people marched against the military dictatorship in Kalay on Monday.
  • In Yinmabin Township, a combined rally of three villages protested against the military dictatorship on Monday.
  • In Phaungbyin Township, a local PDF arrested two former administrators, who had continued to serve as junta informers, in Shwetigone village group on Sunday night. Reportedly, they had to shoot and kill them as they tried to run away while being questioned.
  • At about 1:00 pm Monday, there were two bomb explosions at an affiliated school in Taungphila Ward in Kalay.
  • In Chaung-U Township, a local PDF attacked the junta army using mines at six different locations on Sunday afternoon. Reportedly, 12 junta soldiers died.
  • In an interview with the 74 Media, the leader of the PPDF/MRDA said that the junta administration had collapsed in Pale Township due to local PDF’s resistance.
  • In Myaung Township, local people with Eugenia welcomed PDF members who had completed special refreshers’ training on Monday.
  • In Hpakant in Kachin State, there was an event in memory of Kyaw Lin Htike, who was killed by the junta army in a protest against the military dictatorship last year.
  • In Kawkareik Township in Karen State, two junta Border guard Force (BGF) members, who had been demanding money from cars at the entrance to Waitzagone Village, were shot dead on Monday morning.
  • In Yetashay Township in Bago Region, Zaw Moe Lwin, the Sibai Village administrator, was sent to hospital on Saturday after being bitten by a snake. According to local residents, he was sleeping outside the village as he was afraid that he would be assassinated by the PDF.
  • In Mandalay, an improvised explosive device (IED) was thrown at the junta armed forces conducting inspections on the corner of 61 street and Thaitpan Road on Monday morning. Reportedly, there were some casualties.
  • In Pyigyi Dagun Township, a man who had told the military junta to remove houses in Zeeoat Ward, was shot dead on Monday morning.
  • In Taungtha Township, junta soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members discarded the dead bodies of eight people near villages on Saturday morning.
  • In Pulaw in Taninthayi Region, there was a mine attack at the junta general administration department on Sunday. According to a local PDF, two staff members working on holiday were seriously injured.

Ethnic Armed Organizations

  • In Matupi Township in Chin State, a troop of 150 junta soldiers who had come to reinforce Hteway camp was attacked by a combined force of Chin Defence Forces (CDF) on Saturday and Sunday. According to CDF Paletwa, no less than eight junta soldiers died and more than 15 others were injured.
  • PDF-Zoland announced on Sunday that six police members had joined the CDM in Rihkhawdar in Phalan Township in Chin State on the Myanmar-India border.
  • According to the CNO, over 40 junta soldiers died and about 50 others were injured in battles in Phalan Township in Chin State and Kalay Township in Sagaing Region in February.
  • The CNDF announced on Sunday that they had caught three people who were about to set fire to houses in Phalan Township.
  • In Sintalan in Matupi Township, the local CDF announced that non-CDM staff members were not to live or travel in the area.
  • In Tanintharyi Region, there was fighting between the junta army and the KNU on the Dawei-Tikhi Road on Sunday. Reportedly, five junta soldiers, including an officer, died.
  • According to military sources, the wives of junta soldiers cursed the junta leader Min Aung Hlaing as there were many casualties and arrests among the junta armed forces in the area under the control of KNU Brigade (5).
  • In Maikai Township, the bodies of the chair of the TNP, his wife and their 7-month-old baby girl who had been missing were found in the forest near Tonelaw Village, on 3 and 9 March. Reportedly, they were arrested and killed by the RCSS/SSA.
  • On Monday, the RCSS/SSA responded that they were not responsible for the murder of TNP Chair and his family.

The Military Council

  • On social media, an audio file went viral in which the junta minister of home affairs gave instructions to destroy the businesses of those who make fun of the military junta and to stop silent strikes.
  • Throughout the country, sub election commissions of the junta have been carrying out population checks, saying that it is to compile a list of eligible voters in 2023.
  • In April, cinemas which have been closed for over two years will be reopened all over the country, under instruction from the military junta.
  • In Ayeyarwaddy Region, the junta armed forces conducted a thorough search for deserters in March and tried to sweet talk them into rejoining the military.
  • In North Okkalapa Township in Yangon Region, the junta administration have been collecting information similar to census information in wards.

Summary on 15 March

  • Throughout the country, a large number of people lost lives due to the junta armed forces at this time last year. In memory of them, there are still protests against the military dictatorship.
  • In all parts of the country, the revolution against the military junta still has great momentum. As for the military junta, they have faced great losses. Also, many other junta soldiers have joined the CDM.
  • In Sagaing Region and Karenni, Karen and Chin states, there were frequent clashes. Because the junta army suffered great losses on the ground they also conducted daily airstrikes.
