Surprise Myanmar junta drone attack on PDF in Palaw injures fighter

On 13 October at around 12:00 noon, Military Council troops attacked a Karen People Defense Force (KPDF) checkpoint in the KNU-controlled area in Thanintharyi’s Myeik district, Palaw township with a drone, injuring one of the PDF fighters.

“The Military Council troops suddenly attacked our checkpoint,” an official of the Karen People Defense Force told Mizzima. “One of our soldiers was slightly injured. This is the first time we got attacked with a drone.”

In Palaw Township, the junta’s checkpoints are frequently attacked by drones operated by the People Defense Forces, but this is the first drone attack by the Military Council, he added.

The checkpoint is operated by the KPDF to control the passage of drugs and junta products.
