Thai Inter-University education fair where the students who are interested in further study in foreign countries can learn about opportunities and scholarships will reportedly be held in Yangon and Mandalay.

This exhibition will be organized by Association of Myanmar Students Graduated from Thai Universities and the press briefing for this fair was held at the Thai embassy in Yangon on April 19.

Association of Myanmar Students Graduated from Thai Universities General Secretary Kaung Zan said: “One of our objectives of this association is to work for all-round education development in Myanmar and since we graduated from Thai universities we would like to share our experiences and systems of the universities we attended to our fellow students. And also we would like to tell them they have opportunities to attend these learning institutions. So we organized this Thai Education Fair.”

This is the second such fair. A total of 23 Thai universities participated in the first fair and 20 universities will join this second fair. There will be full scholarship opportunities exclusively for Myanmar students and there will also be other scholarships.

Kaung Zan said, “Thai universities are different from each other. For instance, it depends on what course and programme you would like to attend, Bachelor’s degree or Masters programme. Thailand has the Grade 12 education system in secondary high school so that Myanmar students who passed Grade 10 cannot join their higher education directly. So Myanmar students need to attend a foundation course or some universities accept the students who have completed their first year university course. Universities have difference admission systems. Some universities might accept Grade 10 pass students. So we organized this fair to let Myanmar students ask questions on admission.”

This Thai Education Fair will be held at Yangon Shangri La Hotel on April 27 and at Mandalay Shwe Pyi Thar Hotel on April 28 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
